Welcome back Lego Club members! Welcome to a new school year! This year’s Lego Competition theme is all about water: where is comes from, how we can keep it clean, and how we use it every day! The 4th grade and up team will program our robots Eva, Mo, and BurnE to complete missions in the Hydro Dynamics challenge, while 1-3rd graders will learn beginning programming using our brand new WeDo robot to complete the Aqua Adventure. Meetings begin Friday August 25th:
FIRST® LEGO® League is a competition program developed by LEGO® to encourage interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers. The FIRST® program extends across lower, middle, high school, and even college levels, with increasing complexity of the competition challenge. Fall meetings will continue to be on Fridays, in the Early Childhood Building. A coach will escort any children from Extended Day to the Lego Club meeting. PIZZA will be served to the Club members at 6:15PM. Falll Meetings - 5:00 to 8:00PM Spring Meeting - 5:00 to 6:30PM Need volunteer hours? We will need one parent volunteer EACH FALL meeting to pick up pizza and assist in serving (this will count towards your volunteer hours). Pizza cost will be paid by the Club. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend and help at the meetings. Helping out at our meetings is a great way to fulfill your required volunteer hours. All parent volunteers must be Virtus trained.
