MUSIC Welcome to the 2025-2026 year at Sacred Heart Catholic School. I'm Mr. Rafael Bello and I am teaching Music. This will be my first year with the school and I am very excited to be here. My goal is to help the students expand their musical knowledge and grow in their faith through the music we perform in class and through the music the students encounter in their lives. In my class, I will be looking for students who exhibit good behavior, genuine participation, and a love for learning not only from the teacher but also from their classmates. If I hand out materials make sure that you bring them to the next class. Be prepared to write! I will have days spread throughout each month where students will be working on music theory, music history, and music appreciation. The music we will be working on will range from sacred music all the way to sea shanties and country classics. The reason for this wide range is that I want our students to be exposed to the vast realm of musical ideas and motifs that can be found in all the genres of music we will be covering. If you have any questions, please email me at: rbello@sacredheartschoolcrosby.org |

______________________________________________________________________________________ ![]() St. André Bessette was burdened with illness from birth. At 25, St. Andre applied to the Congregation of the Holy Cross, but he was rejected because of his poor health. However, through the favor of his bishop, he was eventually accepted and became known as Brother Andre. St. Andre was deeply devoted to St. Joseph, and spent a great deal of his time praying for his intercession. He also spent a lot of time with the sick. St. Andre’s devotion to St. Joseph is credited for many miraculous healings in the sick St. Andre worked with. Word of St. Andre’s healing powers began to spread, and he became a key member of the Catholic Church in Montreal, Canada. Pope Benedict XVI once said that Saint Andre “lived the beatitude of the pure of heart”. |
